The technicians are the company
Furnish Care is built on a promise that the person entering a member's home works for us. That only holds if this is somewhere skilled people want to stay.
How we work
Our service model is unusual, and it is not marketing — it changes the terms of the job.
Directly employed, never subcontracted
Every technician is on payroll — salaried, insured, and background-checked. We do not dispatch contractors and we do not pay per job. It is the single decision that shapes everything else here.
Paid by the hour, not the piece
Nobody is rewarded for rushing. A technician who spends an extra hour on a difficult veneer is doing the job correctly, and their compensation does not depend on how many homes they reach that day.
Trained in-house, continuously
New technicians train alongside a regional lead before working unsupervised. We teach material-specific protocols for the manufacturers our members actually own.
Trusted with the judgement call
Technicians are expected to tell a member when a piece needs a specialist we do not provide. Saying 'this is outside what we should touch' is treated as good work, not lost revenue.
Tools and materials provided
Conditioning compounds, polishes, and equipment are supplied and replenished. You are not buying your own consumables out of your wages.
A trade taken seriously
This is skilled work on objects built to outlast their owners. We hire people who already believe that and want to keep getting better at it.

Furniture Care Technician
Full-time · Salaried
Los Angeles · Bay Area · New York · South Florida
Perform preventive care visits in members' homes: conditioning leather and wood, cosmetic touch-ups, condition documentation, and written reports.
What we look for
- Hands-on experience with fine furniture, upholstery, French polishing, cabinetmaking, or a related trade.
- The judgement to recognise when a piece needs more than preventive care — and to say so rather than attempt it.
- Comfort working in high-value private residences with discretion.
- A valid driver's licence and a clean record.
Senior Technician / Regional Lead
Full-time · Salaried
By region
Set the care standard for a metro area: train incoming technicians, review condition reports, and handle the pieces that need the most experienced hands.
What we look for
- Substantial experience in restoration, conservation, or high-end furniture care.
- Experience training or mentoring other tradespeople.
- Willingness to be the final word on difficult material decisions.
Care Specialist (Member Support)
Full-time · Hybrid
Los Angeles
The voice members reach. Guide enrollment, coordinate visit scheduling, and translate technician findings into plain language.
What we look for
- A background in concierge, luxury retail, private client, or high-touch service.
- Genuine written fluency — much of this role is correspondence, not phone calls.
- The patience to explain what preventive care does not cover, clearly and without defensiveness.
Regional Operations Manager
Full-time
Chicago · Dallas–Fort Worth
Open a new metro: hire and schedule the founding technician team, and build the routing that makes annual visits sustainable.
What we look for
- Experience running a field service or dispatch operation.
- Comfort building a region from nothing rather than inheriting one.
- Willingness to ride along on visits until you understand the work.
