Terms & Conditions
The membership agreement in full: what we provide, what we explicitly do not, and how billing, scheduling, and cancellation work.

1.Agreement to Terms
These Terms & Conditions govern your membership with Furnish Care, Inc. ("Furnish Care", "we", "us"). By enrolling, you agree to them.
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter a contract. You must own, or be authorised to arrange service for, the furniture you register.
2.Nature of the Service
Furnish Care is a preventive maintenance membership. It is not insurance, not a warranty, and not a structural repair service. This distinction is fundamental to what you are purchasing.
We do not indemnify you against loss, pay claims in cash, replace damaged furniture, or guarantee any particular condition outcome. What we provide is scheduled professional care intended to slow deterioration, plus documentation of your furniture's condition over time.
No membership guarantees that your furniture will not deteriorate, sustain damage, or require repair.
3.Plans, Piece Count and Registration
Furnish Care offers three plans, which differ in what a visit covers and how often we attend:
- Care: 1 scheduled care visit a year at one location
- Care + Repair: 1 scheduled care visit a year at one location
- Complete Care: 2 scheduled care visits a year at one location
- Your membership covers a specific number of pieces, declared at enrolment. That figure, together with the type of furniture and the setting it is kept in, determines your price.
- Coverage applies only to pieces you have formally registered with a documented condition baseline. Unregistered furniture is not covered under any circumstances.
- You may replace a registered piece by archiving it, which frees its place while preserving its care history.
- Increasing your piece count is treated as an upgrade. New pieces are covered once registered with photographs, and the price adjusts at the next billing cycle. Reducing the count takes effect at renewal.
4.Onboarding Period
Every membership begins with an onboarding period of 60 days, starting on the date your first payment is successfully processed. No care visit may be scheduled or performed before it elapses.
During this period we assess your baseline documentation, identify the materials in your collection, and prepare the care schedule your visits will follow. Furnish Care provides ongoing scheduled maintenance rather than one-off appointments, and this period establishes the plan that maintenance follows.
The onboarding period is not waived, shortened, or refunded, including for a membership cancelled before its first visit.
Changing plans does not restart the onboarding period. Cancelling and re-enrolling does.
5.Scope of Service
A care visit includes, as appropriate to each registered piece, on every plan:
- Removal of abrasive particulates and application of protective polish.
- Deep conditioning of leather, solid wood, and veneer surfaces.
- Cosmetic touch-ups to superficial scratches and abrasions from ordinary use.
- Water rings, heat marks and minor stain treatment.
- Surface treatment of upholstery and textiles.
- Updated photographic condition documentation.
- A written technician report, delivered to your member portal.
6.Minor Repairs (Care + Repair and Complete Care)
Plans that include repair additionally cover the following, which we define as minor repair:
- Re-gluing loose joints, rungs, spindles and stretchers.
- Tightening or replacing hardware — screws, bolts, brackets and cam locks.
- Drawer realignment, and glide adjustment or replacement.
- Door and hinge realignment; catch, latch and magnet replacement.
- Recliner and mechanism adjustment; handle or cable replacement.
- Loose veneer edge re-adhesion, palm-size or smaller.
- Upholstery seam re-stitching of six inches or less.
- Wobble correction, levelling, and glide or foot replacement.
- Where a judgement is required, work is treated as minor repair when it can be completed on site within 60 minutes of labour per piece, using $75 or less in parts, for up to three pieces in a single visit. Work exceeding any of those thresholds is quoted separately.
7.Exclusions
The following are excluded from every plan. Excluded work is not refused — where we are able to carry it out, it is quoted separately and proceeds only with your written approval:
- Major structural rebuilding: frame, rail or leg replacement, failed joinery, collapsed suspension.
- Complete refinishing: chemical stripping, full sanding, or re-staining of an entire piece or panel.
- Reupholstery: re-covering, replacing panels, foam or cushion cores, or spring system rebuilds.
- Veneer sheet replacement or large delamination.
- Motor or powered mechanism replacement. Adjustment of a working mechanism is covered on plans that include repair.
- Any work requiring collection or off-site workshop attention.
- Damage from accident, disaster, fire, flood, pests, or animals.
- Damage from misuse, neglect, unauthorised repair attempts, or use of inappropriate cleaning products.
- Pre-existing damage recorded in a piece's condition baseline. Preventive care resumes on that area once it has been repaired.
- Antiquities requiring museum-standard conservation.
- Any outcome we determine, in our professional judgement, cannot be safely achieved without risk to the piece.
8.Scheduling and Access
- Care and Care + Repair include one care visit per membership year. Complete Care includes two. Each visit covers all registered pieces in a single appointment.
- Visits are booked through your member portal against windows published by technicians serving your area.
- You or an authorised adult must be present for the entire visit.
- You must provide safe, reasonable access to each registered piece. Technicians will not move heavy items, disconnect electronics, or work in unsafe conditions.
- Cancellations require at least 24 hours' notice. Repeated late cancellations or no-shows may result in the annual visit for that cycle being forfeited.
- Unused visits do not roll over into the next cycle.
9.Billing, Term and Renewal
- Memberships run for a term of 12 months from activation.
- Memberships are billed monthly or yearly in advance. Yearly billing provides twelve months of care for eleven months of payment, a saving of approximately 8%.
- Upgrading a plan, or increasing your registered piece count, takes effect immediately, is charged pro rata, and restarts the 12-month term from the date of the change. Visit entitlement becomes that of the new plan, less any visits already used in the current membership year.
- Memberships renew automatically at the end of each term until cancelled.
- Failed payments place the membership in a past-due state. Care eligibility is suspended while past due, and the membership may be cancelled if payment is not resolved.
- We may change pricing with at least 30 days' notice before your next renewal. You may cancel before that renewal if you do not accept the change.
- Payments are processed by a third-party provider subject to its own terms.
10.Cancellation
- You may cancel at any time from your member portal or by contacting us.
- Because a membership is a 12-month term rather than a rolling subscription, cancelling before the term ends incurs an early termination fee of 50% of the payments remaining in that term. The fee is charged at the point of cancellation.
- The exact fee applicable to your membership is shown to you during enrolment, before payment, and is acknowledged as part of the membership agreement. Downgrading a plan before the term ends is treated as a partial cancellation and incurs the same 50% fee on the difference.
- Service continues to the end of the current billing period. Cancellation takes effect at that point.
- Memberships are non-refundable. We do not return payments already made, and do not pro-rate unused portions of a term, including the onboarding period.
- No early termination fee is charged where we end the membership for our own operational reasons, including withdrawing service from your area. Money charged in error is returned; see our Cancellation Policy.
- Your furniture records and condition history remain accessible after cancellation unless you request their deletion.
- We may terminate a membership for non-payment, abuse of staff, fraudulent claims, or material breach of these terms.
11.Care Requests
Between scheduled visits, members may raise a care request through the portal to draw our attention to a change in a registered piece — new wear, a mark, or a surface that is not holding up as expected. A care request is a request for assessment, not a guarantee of remedy.
We review each request against the piece's documented condition history and these terms, then approve it, decline it, or fold it into your next scheduled visit. Where a request falls outside the services we provide we will say so plainly and, where we can, refer you to an appropriate trade.
Knowingly submitting false or misleading information in a care request is grounds for immediate termination without refund.
12.Limitation of Liability
We maintain insurance and take reasonable care in your home. If our technician negligently damages your property during a visit, report it within 72 hours and we will investigate and remedy it appropriately.
Except in cases of our negligence or wilful misconduct, our total aggregate liability arising from your membership is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of value, loss of use, or emotional distress.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
13.Photographs and Content
You retain ownership of photographs you upload. You grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display them for the purpose of delivering the service.
We will not use your photographs publicly without your separate written permission.
You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload any image you provide.
14.Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified by email at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued membership after that date constitutes acceptance. If you do not accept a change, cancel before it takes effect.
15.Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the courts located there.
