Protection plans cover accidents. Insurance covers disasters.Neither covers the wear.
Most fine furniture isn't ruined by one bad night. It dries, fades and collects marks slowly — and every protection plan and home policy excludes exactly that.
Store protection plan
Pays to fix specific accidents — stains, rips, burns — if you report them in time. Bought once, for a fixed term.
Home insurance
Pays out for sudden disasters like fire and theft, after your deductible. Never covers wear.
Furnish Care
Prevents wear before it shows: scheduled technician visits, cleaning, conditioning, touch-ups and a documented history.

The seat of a leather sofa has gone stiff and dull, and the creases are deepening.
Store protection plan
Wear and tear, body oils and ageing are standard exclusions.
Home insurance
Gradual deterioration is never a covered event.
Furnish Care
Cleaning and conditioning at every visit is what keeps leather supple.

Common questions
Is Furnish Care a furniture protection plan?+
No. A protection plan is a service contract that pays to fix specific accidents after you file a claim. Furnish Care is a care membership: a technician visits on a schedule to clean, condition and touch up your furniture, whether or not anything has gone wrong.
Is Furnish Care insurance?+
No. We don't reimburse losses and we don't cover fire, flood or theft — keep your home insurance for those. We take care of the everyday wear that insurance excludes.
Should I still buy the protection plan the store offers?+
If accidental spills and stains worry you most — young children, pets, a white sofa — a protection plan can make sense alongside care. It will not cover drying, fading, worn finishes or other normal wear, which is what Furnish Care is for.
Does homeowners insurance cover furniture wear and tear?+
Generally no. Homeowners and renters policies cover sudden, accidental events such as fire, theft and certain water damage, subject to a deductible. Gradual deterioration and wear and tear are standard exclusions.
Can I cover furniture I already own?+
Yes. Store plans usually have to be bought with the item, but you can register any piece you own with Furnish Care. Each gets a photographed condition baseline when you join.
