What an Annual Care Visit Actually Includes
A precise scope, stated plainly — including the work we don't do, so nothing about your membership comes as a surprise.
Included in Every Membership
Performed on each registered piece during your annual care visit, adjusted to its material and condition.
Preventive Polishing & Dusting
Airborne grit behaves like fine sandpaper under normal use. We remove abrasive particulates from seams, joints, and carved detail, then apply protective polish appropriate to the finish.
Wood, metal, lacquered surfaces
Deep Conditioning
Leather and solid wood lose moisture continuously, and cracking is the visible end of a long invisible process. Conditioning restores flexibility before that point is reached.
Top-grain leather, solid wood, veneer
Cosmetic Touch-Ups
Superficial scratches, scuffs, and minor abrasions from ordinary use are colour-matched and blended so they stop drawing the eye — and stop deepening.
All materials we care for
Condition Documentation
Each piece receives a photographed baseline at enrollment and updated records at every visit, building a continuous history of how it has aged in your home.
Every registered piece
Written Care Reports
After each visit the technician files a report naming what was serviced, what was observed, and what needs attention before the next cycle. It lives in your portal permanently.
Every visit
Textile & Upholstery Care
Surface treatment for performance weaves, wool, and blended upholstery — protective application and light lifting of ordinary soiling, short of full extraction cleaning.
Fabric and mixed upholstery
Materials We Care For
Each material fails differently, so each has its own protocol and its own technician certification.
Leather
Top-grain, full-grain, aniline, and semi-aniline
Wood
Solid hardwood, veneer, oiled, lacquered, and waxed finishes
Upholstery
Performance weave, wool, linen, velvet, and blends
Mixed & Metal
Brass, steel, stone tops, and mixed-material construction
What We Don't Do
We would rather lose a sale than take money for work outside our scope. If your furniture needs any of the following, we will tell you so and point you toward the right trade.
Structural repair
Broken frames, collapsed suspension, snapped legs, or failed joinery. These need a repair specialist, not preventive care.
Complete refinishing
Chemical stripping, full sanding, or re-staining an entire surface. If the finish is gone rather than worn, it is outside our scope.
Upholstery replacement
Re-covering, replacing torn panels, or restuffing depleted cushions. We maintain upholstery; we do not rebuild it.
Disaster and accident damage
Fire, flood, pet destruction, or impact damage. We are a maintenance membership, not an insurance policy — that distinction matters legally and practically.
Pre-existing damage
Damage documented at enrollment must be repaired independently before we can provide preventive care to that specific area.
Antiquities requiring conservation
Pieces of genuine historical value need a conservator following museum protocols. We will tell you when that's what you have.
Maintenance, Not Insurance
The distinction determines what you should expect from us.
A maintenance membership
- Scheduled, predictable, preventive
- Slows deterioration that would otherwise compound
- Documents condition continuously over years
- Priced as an ongoing subscription
Not an insurance policy
- Does not pay out for accidents or disasters
- Does not replace or reimburse damaged pieces
- Does not address structural failure
- Begins with an onboarding and assessment period
Full terms are set out in our Terms & Conditions.
