How to Book a Furniture Care Visit

Booking takes about a minute. The parts worth understanding are when your calendar opens, and what a technician needs from you before the day.

The short version

  1. 1Wait for your eligibility date. Care visits become bookable 60 days after your membership activates. Your portal dashboard shows the exact date, and the calendar stays closed until then.
  2. 2Register your pieces and upload baseline photographs. No visit can be booked until every piece you want covered is registered with photographs. This is the record the technician works from.
  3. 3Open Care Visits in your member portal. You will see the windows technicians have published for your area. Only published windows can be booked — nothing self-schedules.
  4. 4Choose a window and confirm. Pick the window that suits you and confirm the booking. You receive an email confirmation immediately and a reminder before the day.
  5. 5Prepare access before the day. Clear access to each registered piece, and record parking, gate codes, lift requirements and pets on your profile so the information travels with the dispatch.

Most furniture care is bought reactively — something breaks, you search for someone to fix it, and you wait. A care membership inverts that: the visit is scheduled, planned around your furniture specifically, and booked by you rather than negotiated over the phone.

Before you can book, three things must be true

  • Your membership is active — payment has gone through
  • Sixty days have passed since activation
  • Your pieces are registered with baseline photographs

Why there is a 60-day wait

It is the single most-asked question about booking, and the answer is straightforward. A membership is priced on the assumption that care is spread across a year, not consumed immediately. Without a waiting period, the model attracts people who want one expensive visit and no membership — and the cost of that lands on everyone else, either as higher prices or thinner service.

The wait costs you very little in practice, because preventive care is not urgent by definition. Everything else in the portal works from day one: registering pieces, uploading photographs, raising care requests for advice, and calling a specialist about a spill or a daily maintenance question.

Choosing a window

Technicians publish availability by area. You are choosing from real capacity rather than requesting a date and waiting to hear back, which is why the calendar sometimes shows nothing — we would rather show you an empty week than book one we cannot serve.

If your area has no published windows, your dashboard will tell you. There is nothing to chase and no queue to join.

Preparing for the visit

The single biggest cause of a shortened visit is access. A technician cannot condition the back of a sideboard that is against a wall with a bookcase in front of it, and time spent moving your possessions is time not spent on your furniture.

  • Clear a working space around each registered piece — roughly an arm's length on the sides that need attention
  • Empty drawers and shelves on any piece needing mechanical work such as glides, hinges or catches
  • Secure pets somewhere else in the property for the duration
  • Record gate codes, parking restrictions and lift requirements on your profile in advance

Changing or cancelling

Rescheduling is a two-step action rather than a drag-and-drop: cancel the existing booking, then choose a new window. That is deliberate — releasing the slot immediately means another member in your area can take it.

Cancellations need at least 24 hours' notice. Repeated late cancellations or no-shows can forfeit that membership year's visit.

After you book

You will get an email confirmation immediately and a reminder before the day. On the day, the technician introduces themselves by name and shows identification, then walks the property with you and confirms the pieces on your register before anything is touched.

Frequently asked questions

How soon after joining can I book a furniture care visit?

Sixty days after your membership activates. Preventive care is not urgent work, and the waiting period is what keeps membership pricing where it is — without it, a plan could be bought the day before a visit and cancelled the day after.

How many care visits are included each year?

Care and Care + Repair include one visit per membership year. Complete Care includes two. Unused visits do not roll over into the following year.

Can I reschedule a furniture care visit?

Yes. Cancel the existing booking in Care Visits first, then select a new window. Cancellations need at least 24 hours' notice.

What happens if nobody is home?

Someone over 18 needs to be at the property for the whole visit. A technician who arrives at a locked property has spent that visit, and repeated no-shows can forfeit that year's visit.

Why are there no windows showing in my calendar?

Either your eligibility date has not passed, or technicians have not yet published windows for your area. Your dashboard will say which, and there is nothing you need to do in the meantime.
